In this draft I added a black thin border around each frame, its not very visable but really trains the viewers eye upon wheats happeneing on screen. I added the blue filter towards the end of the video because the ending is quite sad and dark really, so I felt that it fitted. I also trimmed several parts to make the walking look more smooth.
In the next draft I trimmed a lot more, and lightened the argueing scene because although I wanted it dark I still wanted it visable.
On the final draft I added captions, the first time the captions were in a very fancy gothic style writing however people did not agree with the font and found it hard to read so I re did it with a thin but easy to read font. I also trimmed a lot more of and now the walking looks very smooth, I also cut a lot of the wlaking scnes because they were very lengthly and very boring, I also added the credits at the end to really hit home to the audience.

Cutting Live Action
After some deliberation and witht ime contsratints we have decided once and for all to cutethe live action because our performance can work just as well without it and it wouldont really fit in with the theme of the film. The idea of live action was also not very developed and so we just think its easier just to cut it.
I have alsodoneanouther 2 edits on the film and I have trimmed the walking/running scenes down alot as likeour teacher said they were much to long
I also added different filters to show the mood in the scene.

No Light Draft 1
So this is the first draft of No Light, so far I have cropped the clips to make them fit the music and the tempo. From this I hope to Crop the clips more to fit the music more, cut of all the seconds that arent surposed to be their and thenadd more effects. I want to add black and white to the underpass scene, im going to download spome filters to use and layer more efects especially on the flashbacks. I also hope to toggle the lighting on some scenes. However we are still misssing a scene from this edit far and we hope to have this done as soon as possible and added in. We still hope to use live action at the end however we are both unsatisfied with our ending.

Live Action
After a discussion we decided that we would keep the element of live action and we would use glow in the dark make up and white clothingto show me as a ghost.
When I do my live action the video will stop as I walk to the frontof the stage. The video will then start again with very fast flashbacks getting faster and faster untill the video stops again and Cam will sing the lines we decided upon and the light will go out. When they come back on Cam will be on the floor dead. She will be dead as wewill see her fall into the sea before the video ends.

Cutting White Room Scene
Unfourtunatly with timing restraintswe have had to cut the white room scene. However we feel this is a good thing because our love of the idea of the 'white room scene' has blinded us to the fact that it had nothing to do with out plot and it would confuse the audience.
This has made us rethink our whole plot of 'no light'. Wehave decided to take more influence from the original 'No Light No Light' music video by florence and the machine. We are keeping the idea of running away fromthe kitchen scene and having the flashbacks along the way. We have filmed an ending which is where the protagonist commits suicide by jumping into the sea. However with our budget it did not look particualry good. I am goling to keep it in and edit it for the first draft but we will need to have a rethink for a better idea. Because of teh white room scene getting cut we have also lost the element of live action, howevr we have a few ideas cirulating of how we can still do that.
Bubbles has added the clips of everything weve filmed so far into two videos: http://youtu.be/KiwtZ8QrE38 this one is the underpass shots we took, it looks very simple at the moment but I plan to to do lots of editing to this.
The second is what we filmed atth beach and the eventual suicide: http://youtu.be/-qx7VepZ3CI Which looks good up untill the suicide but again this needs editing.
We did have an ideaof seeing her fall into the sea,and then we do make up and costume to make Cam look like a ghost and then we will get influences from the musical GHOST. We will fuse this with the live action, I did have the idea of usiing glow in the dark make up paint and white clothing like usedon Sam in Ghost.

Eastenders Preliminary Study
The episode of east enders that we studied for our preliminary study was about betrayal, it was about two characters Phil and his son Ben. Phil Mitchell has supposedly killed Stella, and Ben knows about this. The information is always on his mind and his inner conflictions are made worse about the fact that Phil is ignoring his son and favouring his adopted son Jay. Ben becomes infuriated with this and contacts the police to tell them that his father Phil had killed Stella. The episode concludes with Phil being taken into custardy and Ben laughing in his father’s face.
The betrayal that the piece addresses is the betrayal of Phil by his son Ben; he is betrayed as Ben tells police of his father’s killing of Stella. Ben explains this is partly because he wants it of his conscience but you can also tell its partly vengeance for the way Phil has been treating him by ignoring him and favouring his adopted son Jay.
The East enders episode is mainly targeted at families because it is realistic in the fact of the scenery and characters are ones you would possibly see in day to day life. Although the plotlines can be extreme they are not unrealistic as it is something we have experience or know others who have experienced it. It is also families because it is shown before the watershed (9pm) and this kind of effects the naturalistic capabilities of it as they cant swear in situations where they would usually swear.

Personally I really liked the episode because of the naturalistic style and the fact that the betrayal it addressed was unusual yet something we could all relate to. I also liked the fact that you felt a lot of connection to the characters involved and could really connect with their story.
The style of the piece was a soap opera drama piece with a naturalistic style. It’s a soap opera because it’s the tale of lots of different families with different problems and how they intertwine, you can also tell it’s a soap opera because the camera angles used are nothing fancy really, it’s just sort of long shot medium and close up, this helps give the impression that you are standing with the people watching the stories unfold which is what Soap operas are supposed to do. It’s also a drama piece mainly because its actors reading lines and trying to make you believe that they are that character which at the end of the day what drama is. It’s also naturalistic with sets like a street and a house that you really believe people would live in and clothing and make up that ordinary people watching would wear. This is important to further help the people believe that the piece is real and that you are really there.
The main methods used in the East enders episode was firstly the acting style which was that of a drama piece and to be naturalistic so people can really connect with the characters and really believe the stories they are trying to tell. They also use camera angles such as close ups when there is a tense scene to really make you focus in on that phesific character and make you see and feel the emotions and see how they react t what another character is saying. When Ben is walking away from the car they also use a track shot where you walk with the character as in the camera is going backwards as Ben goes forewords and it really makes you feel as if your walking with him. The settings are also important in the Eastenders episode because they need to be naturalistic as in they can’t be perfectly clean because that not what a house would look like in real life. Some sets used in Easterners are such of the garage where Ben and Jay make Phil’s car which is kind of dirty and grotty and theirs oil on the walls which is what a real garage looks like. They also use the houses which also help to show how there are upper-class and low class living in the same area and showing the differences between those families. The language used in the piece is slang and informal which you would expect for the east end of London and that is how most people in the real world talk as it wouldn’t work if they were talking formally with proper English as it would be very unbelievable. They also use sound effects to help it seem more real such as a train going passed, a dimmed down radio (Especially in the Cafe or the Pub).
In Ghost the betrayal seems very simple however in Eastenders it is more complex. In Ghost it is Sam’s friend Carl betraying him and hiring a hit man to kill him, in Eastenders it’s a man Phil who has killed a woman called Stella his son knows and his son betrays him to police. However the pieces are similar because they both address the idea of betrayal and it’s not the typical betrayal you would expect (you would expect a man cheating on a woman). Both Ghost and Eastenders are for families with no swearing or rude jokes and they are both something that normal working class people would enjoy. Their is also differnece when it comes to the methods used in the two preliminary studies because Ghost used a lot of mixed media such as projections and lighting whereas Eastenders cant do that as it has to stay naturalistic.
Personally I believe that Eastenders is more successful in showing Betrayal because it goes more in-depth to the betrayal whereas Ghost gets lost in the romance between Molly and Sam and the fact that Sam is a ghost and things. I also think that Eastenders is more powerful in the way it shows Betrayal which is kind of expected as Ghost is also a comedy.

Preliminray Study (Ghost Theatrical Trailer)
GHOST the musical is a theatrical adaptation of the original 1990's hit movie GHOST. GHOST is a love story between protagonist's Sam and Molly who live in New York in the 1980's. They have recently moved into a new apartment and Sam works in a bank while Molly works with pottery. The couple are madly in love and everything seems perfect until one of Sam's colleagues at the bank decides to steal money, however Sam finds out about what his Friend is going to do. So the colleague arranges fro Sam's death and he is shot dead in the street by a hit man, however Sam stays on the planet as a ghost (hence the title). Sam then vows to protect Molly and to stop his colleague stealing the money and to stop his colleague trying to win Molly's heart. Sam does this through the help of a physic and eventually Sam stops his colleague completes his mission on earth and is allowed to leave and go to 'heaven'.The movie was a massive success and now they have adapted for movie theatres in the west end.
Sam:
Molly:
Carl:
GHOST addresses the idea of betrayal because Sam's colleague Carl betrays him and kills him and steals the money. Furthermore he tries to steal Molly from Sam once he is dead. This is interesting because it isn't betrayal withing a loving relationship which may Be what is expected, and all of us can relate as we would have all been betrayed by our Friends.
GHOST the musical is mostly targeted upon people who loved the movie and would not like to go and watch it as a theatrical adaptation, that would also be the main reason behind adapting the piece in the first place. People who also like romance would also go and watch this adaptation because at heart that is what GHOST is about which is a love story between Sam and Molly. The film is also aimed at people who enjoy theatre and musicals because even if they hadn't watched the movie they may have seen the trailer and wanted to go and see it for its production values.
Personally I have seen and loved the movie and I would dearly love to go and see this if it was only for this reason, also the film looks very well and interestingly made with the production effects the dance the costume. Its very well thought out and I think it will look amazing and I would really love to go. I like the fact that they stay close to the original movie while also offering a different take upon it.
The style of work is musical theatre, you can tell this with the accumulation of acting and singing also the use of dance suggests that it is a musical, also the fact that it is played in the west end shows that it is also a musical theatre piece. However during the trailer when Sam is on the train their is an element of physical theatre because it choreographed fight scene but done in an almost dance style. The projection effects also show that it is a new piece of theatre and is pushing the boundaries of what musicals can do and look.
The genre of the musical GHOST is that of romance, drama, and a supernatural aspect (a bit like Twilight but cooler). I say its supernatural because its about ghosts but not in the traditional Halloween sense.
Their is a lot of technology used like the projection that is almost constantly on, and the lighting effects with having Sam and Molly is different colours Sam in blue to further show he is a ghost.
They also use a lot of big props such as building the train they really did put a lot of set building effort into this, which further shows how modern the piece is.
Their is also a lot of use of sound such as the heart monitor and the gun shot to help move the story along and also the use of song to make it from a drama piece into a piece of musical theatre. Their is more of a great use of colour such as when its around Molly and Sam in the beginning their are lots of reds and yellows showing passion love and happiness however when its around Carl their are uses of greens and blacks showing evil jealousy and greed.
He also wears a red tie which could symbolise blood as he hired someone to kill Sam showing the blood on his hands. Their are a lot of projectiosn used throught the whole peice each with a difefrent meaning.
This is the projection used when Sam first discovers he is dead, they use the ehart moniter to symbolise a dying heart, they have made it green to surgest something alien and idfferent because heart moniters are usually red.
This is the projection used when the bankers are walking around. In this they use weird walking styles as part of contempary dance. they also have a rapidly moving projection to show their busy lives.
This projection is used near the end of the trailer, and its praying hands and then a heart moniter.
